Knowing What You've Got

Flatfoot (fallen arches) and high arches (cavus foot) may change the way your foot functions and cause discomfort, instability, trouble walking, repeated ankle sprains and progressive deformity. I generally only suggest surgery if problems continue after adequate non-surgical treatment, including orthotics, physiotherapy and supportive footwear.
